Grounded, intimate, and unflinchingly honest, Ella Güdel’s music is a soft bed at the end of a long day and a sparkling sunray through your kitchen window. Ella is an indie folk singer-songwriter, producer, and acoustic guitarist based in Toronto, Canada. She draws inspiration from artists like Adrienne Lenker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Laura Marling, writing intricately crafted lyrics meant to open your senses to the poignant beauty of being alive. Ella’s songs explore themes of self discovery, mental health struggles, and Queer love.
Ella is a recent graduate of Seneca Polytechnic’s Independent Songwriting and Performance, and Independent Music Production programs. In 2025 she was one of five Youth Discoveries winners at Summerfolk Music and Crafts Festival in Owen Sound. She has played shows across Toronto, and at events such as Toronto Folk Festival, and Winterfolk Blues and Roots Festival.
In the spring of 2025 Ella Güdel released her first single, Weightless, which she self-produced. She’s currently working on her debut EP, Sweet Bitter, a work inspired by the ancient Greek poet, Sappho, which will be released in the fall of 2026.
